Of our production
An annular corrugated metal flexible hose can guarantee an high flexibility by a movement and deformation of metal waves.
Based on the operating conditions, they are equipped with one or more braids designed to resist the operating pressure and, if necessary, with an outer protection Armor or with an internal Liner to overcome fluid speed problems.
Application
Hoses have many applications in conveying pressurised or non-pressurised fluids compatible with austenitic stainless steels (AISI321 – AISI316L). They are recommended especially for industrial applications in the following sectors: steam, superheated water, liquid gases, acidic solvents, fuel gases, air, oxygen, nitrogen, liquid oil, etc.
Testing
All steel hoses are subjected to dimensional and fuctional testing for the required characteristics, and they also are subjected to hydraulic test, 1.5 times the operating pressure, shown on our tables, for a minimum time of 60 seconds, unless otherwise indicated by the customer. If hydraulic test is not required, hoses are subjected to pneumatic test for a minimum of 60 seconds according to ISO10380.
Approved fittings
Any type and material (UNI, ANSI, ecc.), welded (GTAW) or braze welded in silver alloy.
Operating Temperature
Radius of curvature
It is the minimum radius which the hose can be subjected to, in reference to flexible hose diameter. The bending radius value is referred to ambient temperature without any pressure.

Correction factor
(Temperature/Pressure)
In the case a hose must operate at temperatures higher than 20°C, a correction factor must be used to establish the new maximum pressure of the hose. The correction factor has to be multiplied for the maximum operating pressure indicated in the techical data of the chosen hose, and the obtained value must be higher than the operating pressure to which the hose will be subjected to. To know the correction factor “temperature / pressure”, look for the technical documentation of that type of steel.
Accessories
Our flexible hoses can be supplied with different type of accessories, depending on the customer requests. A steel hose can be supplied with the following accessories:
Standards:
Flexible hoses are projected and manufactured according to ISO10380 Type 3,
unless otherwise indicated by the customer.
Installation
To provide a correct installation of our hoses, it’s necessary to follow some guidelines:
do not bend the hoses more than the radius of curvature indicated in our tables;
make sure that the hoses are not subjected to forces or torsion movements during assembly, and then during operating phase. They also must be protected from impacts which can damage the hose, or even dangerous situations;
make sure that operating pressure and temperature are in the range indicated in our tables for that type of hose;
make sure the terminal connections are tightened correctly in order to avoid unwanted leaks.
